Many thanks for loading the shells recently prepared for me . I was able to you them on a recent South Dakota pheasant hunt. I had wanted to shoot my Damascus barreled Parker at pheasants for the first time. These shells made that possible. I look forward to ordering from yall in the future.

Just what the old gun and soul needed

There is nothing wrong with a new Benelli or Beretta. If you are planning a high volume day with a group, these guns would be a top choice. But sometimes you don’t want a high volume day. Sometimes you just want a slower day in the field, where you can take in the scenery and enjoy the company of good friends. A day you wear an old canvas or wool jacket, and a Jones cap. Your only gear is a Remington Boy Scout knife, a handful of shells in your pocket and a trusty thermos full of coffee. That is what these shells are perfect for. On those days I carry a Remington model 10 that left the factory in 1927, and my hunting partner brings a Parker side by side that was made 5 years earlier.

I chose the 12 gauge #4 load. Recoil is consistent with Federal Grand #7 1/2 paper shells. In my full choke I get even and consistent patterns at 35 yards on a 24”x36” poster board. My gun came with a 2 9/16” chamber, and these loads feed perfectly from magazine to chamber. I’m so thankful to Saltcreek Ammo for helping me enjoy vintage hunting with my old gun.

Love the shells. Haven’t been Crane hunting yet but patterned both improved modified barrels of my 32” twist steel barreled PH Parker and it patterned great with the “2s. Can’t wait to go in January!
